Work to create mlountain bike specific trails started in the 1990’s, utilising public rights of way to the south of Machynlleth to create the Mach 1, 2 and 3 trails and in 2005 this expanded with the construction of the legendary CliMachX trail in Ceinws/Esgairgeiliog using Community Regeneration Funding.

Dyfi MTB was formed in October 2017 to replace a previous custodian of the Climachx trail and provided the local input required by land manager Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to keep the trail open.

In its 8 years, Beicio Mynydd Dyfi Mountain Biking carried out many “dig days” on local trails, re-established the historic Mach 1, 2 and 3 trails and hosted charity events including the Dyfi Wild Ride and film showings in aid of local children’s charities.

The CIC is to cease operation due to the discrepancy between volunteer capacity and legal responsibility.

Chair Dafydd Tomos said “We are proud of what we have achieved by bringing together volunteers, riders and land managers to create a great riding experience for Dyfi visitors and locals alike.
