The aim of the Management Project is to enable the company to become self-sustaining and not be wholly reliant on volunteers.
In order to adequately manage the long-term, continuous program of trail-maintenance that will be required to ensure that the trails are maintained to NRWs standards, especially when handled a significant increase in the amount of traffic, as well as delivering the other prjects set out by the comany’s vision, we want to be able to pay a dedicated Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the project, providing a more professional approach and allowing volunteers to step-back from the management of the business.
This is a significant, long-term project that would employ a project manager for 2 days (15 hours) a week on a two-year contract to deliver the vision of the company. Therefore we are looking for an investment of around £20,000 per year for two years. This project would particularly suit an organisation looking to implement or expand a Corporate Social Responsibility programme. As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, Beicio Mynydd Dyfi Mountain Biking are ideally suited to this type of investment. The vision of companny and the projects that are planned mean that this is a long-term project that will deliver benefits beyond just providing mountain bike trails in the Dyfi Forest. This project will allow a whole generation of people in the Dyfi valley access to the physical health and mental well-being benefits of cycling in the open landscape of the near-wilderness, while also bringing sustainable tourism to an area of social deprivation and providing direct and indirect employment opportunities local communities.
